Job Title: Archbishop’s Chaplain
Salary: £45,928 - £51,962
Location: Bangor (The role requires travel throughout Wales and beyond, and occasional overnight stays)
Contract: Permanent. This is an employed, salaried position for which housing is not provided. This role is open to both ordained and lay applicants.
Reporting to: The Archbishop’s Chaplain will be responsible, for his/her day-to-day work to the Archbishop of Wales. For matters relating to employment, he/she will report to the Chief Operating Officer of the Representative Body.
Hours of Work: Full time (34.75 hours per week)
Job Purpose
The Archbishop of Wales is elected from amongst the six serving diocesan bishops. The most recent election was held in December 2021 and the Bishop of Bangor was elected as Archbishop; he continues to serve as Bishop of Bangor and is assisted in that role by an Assistant Bishop, the Bishop of Bardsey.
The essence of this role is to ensure that the Archbishop of Wales is free to exercise his ministry secure in the knowledge that robust systems and protocols are in place to ensure that he will always be well briefed as he engages with his demanding schedule.

- A commitment to excellence in the workplace.
- A degree, academic equivalent or background in theology and ministry
