Salary: £28,610 - £32,370
Location: Archbishop of Wales's Office, Bangor, Hybrid working will be considered
Contract: Permanent
Reporting to: Director of Mission and Strategy
Hours of Work: 34.75 hours / pw
Job Purpose
The Archbishop of Wales is a key public figure with a strong media profile. We are seeking to support his role with greater digital resources. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, committed and articulate person, keen to be part of an energetic and varied ministry. The role will involve travel, to film the Archbishop at events, and some weekend work.
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience within church/faith-based communications, journalism or public relations.
- Established relationships with individuals in media outlets, and the ability to maintain and grow professional contacts.
- Able to work autonomously and make decisions regarding media and campaign suitability.
- A good working knowledge of the Church in Wales, its structures and the issues it faces.
- A good understanding of public affairs and ecumenical issues.
- A broad knowledge of, and empathy with, Welsh culture and community life
- Working knowledge of the full communications mix including traditional media, social media, internal communications, print and digital channels.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deliver to deadlines.
- Ability to research issues and disseminate relevant facts to deadlines.
- The ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and to plan and deliver multi-channel projects with colleagues.
Skills Requirements
- The ability to work through the medium of Welsh.
- Excellent written skills.
- Effective digital production skills, including filming, digital media production, editing and operating within a CMS as well as via multiple external platforms.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality.
