Daily With God - new prayer manual published
Simple and well-loved prayers to guide people through each day have been brought together in a new book which will be published this week.
From morning to night prayers, Daily with God / Beunydd gyda Duw is an easy-to-use prayer manual, compiled by the Church in Wales, to help and encourage people in their prayer lives. It will be published on March 1, St David’s Day, and launched at the National Prayer Breakfast at the Senedd on March 7.
The manual includes simple versions of Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer and Night Prayer, as well as several classic prayers, well-loved in the Anglican tradition, and many treasures from the Welsh spiritual tradition. The ‘Welsh feel’ of the book is enhanced by stunning photos which reflect the diversity of our national landscape. It has been complied by the Standing Liturgical Advisory Commission.
In his introduction to Daily With God, the Bishop of St Asaph, Gregory Cameron, who chairs the Commission, describes the prayers as having been “worn into smooth and helpful shapes by being passed down from one generation to another”.
He says, “Daily with God is designed to offer you the opportunity to shape a pattern of prayer which suits you. It includes some of the greatest and best-loved prayers of Christians down through the ages. It gives you a core of prayers to use daily as you approach the throne of God’s grace, together with prayers for particular occasions and opportunities.”
Daily With God is published by Y Lolfa and costs £12.99.
