Diocese celebrates its centenary
The Diocese of Swansea and Brecon is celebrating its centenary year, and inviting people to get involved.
From pilgrimages and services, to a festival at the Royal Welsh Showground in September, there will be a host of events.
They are also planting 100 trees in their twin diocese of Asante Mampong in Ghana.
As part of the celebrations, they're asking people to send in their photographs and memories for an exhibition and a special edition of the diocesan magazine, Cymuned, later in the year.
They would also like your video stories - a short video recorded on your phone, with your memories.
There is a list of 100 activities to take part in to mark the occasion, with everything from community fun days to volunteering at a local charity.
Mandy Bayton, Bishop’s Officer for Evangelism and member of the centenary working group, says, “As a diocese we believe we have much to thank God for and we want to celebrate our centenary by celebrating God’s goodness and faithfulness throughout the previous century. We would like to celebrate with a year of celebration, with different celebratory events and activities taking place across our beautiful diocese and beyond.”
