Gorsedd honours the Archbishop of Wales
The Archbishop of Wales & Bishop of Bangor has been invited to join the Gorsedd by accepting the Honorary Druid Order, the Blue Dress, which is for Service to the Nation.
He is to be admitted to the Gorsedd at the National Eisteddfod this year in recognition of his commitment to the Welsh culture and language. His national project, 'Food and Fuel', where he engaged with supermarkets and the Welsh Government to support people during the cost-of-living crisis, remains close to his heart. He has collaborated on the Llan Project, which promotes Welsh culture, language and the Christian faith in a contemporary way, while strengthening the use of the Welsh language in Diocese of Bangor. As a member of the Bishops' Bench, he is responsible for the Welsh language and Welsh Christianity, and he supports the 'Welcome Course' of the Church in Wales, which encourages new clergy to learn Welsh.
