Myanmar Earthquake - A statement from the Archbishop of Wales, Andrew John:
"Almighty and Everlasting God,
In this time of sorrow and suffering, we lift up before you all those affected by the devastating earthquake in Myanmar, and beyond. We grieve the loss of so many lives, and we hold in our hearts all who have been injured, displaced, and traumatised.
We commend into Your loving care those who mourn the loss of loved ones. May they feel Your comfort, Your strength, and the assurance of Your presence in their darkness.
We pray for the emergency services, for the courageous working to rescue the trapped, to heal the wounded, and to bring hope to those in despair. Grant them safety and strength.
Lord, we ask that Your healing hand be upon this broken region. Bring peace to troubled hearts, restore order to places of devastation, and fill the land with Your light of hope.
Hear our prayer, Lord, and may Your mercy and love be made known to all in need. We place our trust in You, for You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.
Through Christ our Lord, we pray.
Amen."
