Prayers: The Third Sunday of Lent
Divine Source of Love,
life can be difficult, guide us to pause and listen inwards to the great gift of the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit.
We give thanks for your beloved son, our Lord Jesus,
who confronted our flaws and fears with a profound kindness that transcended even the darkest moments of existence,
showing us that Your ultimate response is not condemnation but an invitation to healing and wholeness.
As we journey onward, help us not just to give kindness but to become it,
not just to speak truth but to become justice,
not just to offer love but to become love itself,
creating a world that reflects Your peace. Amen.
God of heaven and earth,
as we travel to Jerusalem,
keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
Help us to develop and grow as your people
so that we can bear good fruit for your Kingdom.
This we ask in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
God of heaven and earth,
as we travel to Jerusalem,
keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
Strengthen us with the Water of Life,
so that our selfless lives can be
songs of worship in spirit and truth.
This we ask in the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Collect 46
Almighty God,
whose most dear Son went not up to joy
but first he suffered pain,
and entered not into glory before he was crucified:
mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross,
may find it none other than the way of life and peace;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
