Prayers: Seiriol (6th century), Welsh Abbot
3 February
Holy God,
whose blessed son Seiriol,
laid aside his earthly privilege to embrace the life of a monk and hermit,
and who with his soul friend, Cybi, was a beacon for pilgrims in north Wales;
help us to withdraw from those things which distract us from your call upon our lives.
Bless us with understanding friends who support our vocations,
and may your radiance so shine in our lives that others will be drawn to seek your light,
through Jesus Christ our Lord and Light of the world. Amen.
Collect 159
Almighty God,
by whose grace Seiriol,
kindled with the holy fire of your love,
became a burning and a shining light in the Church:
inflame in us the same spirit
of discipline and love,
that we may walk before you
as children of the light;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
