Job Title: Church School Inspection & Support AdministratorSalary: £30,731 - £34,770Location: 2 Callaghan Square, CardiffContract: PermanentReporting to: The Provincial Director of EducationHours of Work: Full time (34.75 hours per week)The Church in Wales is proud to be a partner in the provision of education in Wales with 145 schools serving communities in every diocese. Periodically these schools must undergo an inspection of their religious character in accordance with Section 50 of the 2005 Education Act. They also have Foundation Governors who are responsible for ensuring that the religious character of the school is promoted in accordance with its trust deeds.Job PurposeThe coordinator will support the Provincial Director of Education in ensuring that the Section 50 inspection system functions both seamlessly and professionally, will maintain the Foundation Governor database as well as provide support for schools on governance issues which relate to their designation as schools of a religious character.EssentialExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and able to work as a first point of contactExperience of engaging with and developing effective working relationships with a range of internal and external colleagues, stakeholders and suppliersStrong organisational skills and attention to detail, forward-thinking and able to keep pace with multiple fast-moving topicsExperience of planning, prioritising and delivering work to a high standard and by the required deadlineExperience of managing projects and eventsExperience and understanding of the current educational landscape of WalesAble to work well under pressure and work proactively and flexibly to manage competing priorities and continually improve processesAble to coordinate (record, monitor and follow-up on various activities and ensure that inputs from others are requested, received and actioned)Good drafting skills and able to engage with complex and/or lengthy documents and correspondence and accurately highlight the key points and argumentsDemonstrate advanced proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and WordAble to show discretion, maintain confidentiality (particularly in relation to highly sensitive information) and appropriately use own initiative and judgement to make decisionsWilling to do the seemingly small tasks which ensure that the work of the department runs smoothly and that problems are promptly solvedAn empathy with the mission and ministry of the Church in WalesHow to applyTo apply for this vacancy, please send your cover letter indicating how you meet each of the essential criteria and completed application form to: hr@cinw.org.ukPLEASE NOTEIt is our policy that we will only be accepting a cover letter and an application form.
